Trip Advisor Reviews

I've noticed PG have started to respond to negative reviews on Trip Advisor, is this an actual commitment to change their aggressive timeshare image or just a little PR?

This is just Playa Grande trying to grab some PR. They do not change their ways. If you think otherwise, just try to post something negative on Trip Advisor.

Those responses by PG management are a joke. The reality is, they don't give a hoot about us owners, or any guests for that matter. Don't get me wrong... I love my weeks at Playa Grande, but my expectations from PG customer service (or management in general) are very, very low.

Back in the day when we first bought, Playa Grande was an awesome resort that treated the owners like royalty. Now, we're treated like cr@p, for the most part. After my two memberships @ PG expire, I won't return. If I sound a little jaded, I guess I am. Just tired of the poor treatment and customer service, and the maintenance fees that increase exponentially every year to pay for the super cheap "upgrades" (Ikea couches, etc.). And, even owners don't get free wi-fi... you can get free wi-fi at just about every other resort in Cabo, but not Playa Grande. Thank you, Bulnes kids, for being so freakin' cheap!

Donna, since you are a new owner at GS do you anticipate the mgt mentality to be more owner friendly there?

I honestly don't know what to expect. However, at least the rooms and furniture will be new and are certainly of a much higher quality than the furniture at Playa Grande (at least in the original section -- the Ridge furniture is definitely better than the "Lower 40").

I've learned to work around most of the issues at PG. For example, when the happy hour was cut to only 1 hour, we simply took our business next door to the Finisterra. I can tolerate the cheap furniture in my two units because we are ocean-front in Building A -- that makes up for it, IMO. Also, we ALWAYS do the timeshare tour each year in order to get $200-300 resort credit. Kind of like a litte "refund" of our bloated maintenance fees. We go into town if we need free internet.

It is unfortunate that we have had to come up with so many "workarounds" due to the lack of customer service or care by the management/owners, but it is what it is. I also want to note that those who actually do the work at Playa Grande (maids, waiters, bell boys, etc.) are all very hard working. They provide wonderful service. It's only the management on up that are thoughtless and uncaring.
